Description
Seeraga Samba Rice, the crown jewel of traditional South Indian grains, is a revered heirloom variety celebrated for its distinctive aroma and delicate size. Named after cumin seeds (seeragam) due to its tiny, fine grains, this ancient rice variety holds a prestigious position in Tamil Nadu's culinary heritage. Grown using sustainable natural farming methods, Seeraga Samba absorbs complex spices and flavors effortlessly, making it the supreme choice for iconic South Indian dishes.
In traditional and festive cooking, Seeraga Samba Rice is world-famous as the essential foundation for authentic Dindigul and Ambur biryanis, aromatic ghee rice, and rich meat or vegetable pulaos. Unlike longer basmati grains, these small, fine grains cook into a fluffy, tender texture that remains light on digestion while locking in rich, herbal flavors. It is also wonderful for preparing spiced coconut rice, tomato rice, and traditional festive lemon rice.
